Among the many restaurants in China Town that I wanted to try sitting comfortably at the table was Wencheng, always crowded only with Chinese customers. Then Covid came and I cursed myself for procrastinating for so long! Fortunately, this rustic and tidy diner carries out the home service, so I can make up for it.
Wencheng is actually a county of China located in the Zheijang province. The cuisine proposed by this restaurant follows the multitude of dishes in the rich offer, even online. Choosing is a bit difficult because everything is very inviting: from "delicious pleasures" (dumplings and appetizers), cold appetizers, the incredible proposal of noodles, rice and soups, the curious parenthesis of crudités (including the famous raw crab) and the "specialties" (almost all based on tofu), up to the numerous dishes based on meat or seafood, unique dishes with a base of rice, side dishes based on vegetables and homemade desserts, which also include fried fruit.
I choose a few dishes to get an idea: the poached cucumber as an appetizer, the famous dan dan noodles (really delicious), the pork with yuxiang sauce (really good and rich in bean sprouts) and the Chinese aubergines stewed with meat (a great classic for me unbeatable).
Only four dishes will you say? Yes, because the portions are really generous. This is why I recommend you try this restaurant, both at home as a delivery / takeaway, and on site, in company: all the dishes are in fact perfect for sharing.
Add to this the honest prices and careful packaging: once the food arrived home it was still perfectly hot. Really good!
