Santorini: Asian travel guide - where to eat
Santorini is an island of the Cyclades, in the Aegean Sea. In the sixteenth century BC it was destroyed by a powerful volcanic eruption that changed its conformation forever. Characterized by white, black and red beaches and by the typical completely white cubic houses, agglomerated above all in Oia and Fira that directly overlook the volcanic crater, Santorini is perhaps the most beautiful and fascinating among the Greek islands (it is certainly the most romantic).
Thanks to the large influx of tourism during the hot season and the presence of very fresh fish, even in Santorini it is possible to have an Asian gastronomic experience.
So, here's where to eat Asian food in Santorini.
Here's my guide for a very special holiday in Santorini.
Ginger sushi lounge
If you are in Santorini and one evening you want to have a sushi dinner then you have to go to Ginger sushi lounge. Located in Firostefani, it is referred to by many as the best sushi restaurant on the island. I've been there for a small aperitif and I must have been thrilled.
The restaurant is small and cozy, perfect for a romantic dinner. If, on the other hand, you do not want to dine, you can still drink a good cocktail, choosing between classic and innovative. The menu is also eclectic: although the proposals are not very many, there is a decent variety of fusion rolls, combined with traditional nigiri and hot dishes (such as tempura and noodles). What is striking is certainly the quality of the raw material: the fish is in fact very fresh and the sushi chef is very well prepared.
Despite the position and the type of cuisine offered, the price is really competitive.
