In the Porta Romana area there is a charming shop that will make you feel in Japan like no other. This is Sakurasan, the most refined and elegant space in Milan where you can buy Japanese objects. Already from the window, finely cared for in every detail and customized according to the current season, you will realize the beauty of this store.
To achieve this result, the couple of very kind and friendly owners have cultivated over the years an immeasurable passion for the land of the Rising Sun. With thirty years of travel behind them and a continuous search for exclusivity and beauty, both have made Sakurasan a hidden pearl in the city of Milan, frequented by lovers of the genre and Japanese themselves.
Opened in 1985 as a studio and packaging design shop, in 2007 it began to offer Japanese objects that were previously used for packaging. From 2012, however, it has become the beautiful store it is today and that I absolutely recommend you go and discover. Alternatively, consult the online store or the blog, full of curiosities about Japan.
But what to buy at Sakurasan? Everything that is handcrafted and authentic because the suppliers are exclusively Japanese - in fact I have never seen such beautiful objects anywhere in Milan.
From kimono to accessories to complete the outfit (such as geta, bags, scarves or fans), beautiful and precious ceramics, tea sets and bento boxes, home furnishings (prints, paintings, noren, vases, katoributa, furin ), up to all the objects concerning the art of writing.
