Omacase sushiteca
Consuming a real authentic Japanese meal in the Navigli area has always been a bit of a problem due to the shortage of traditional restaurants. But just a short walk from the movida, at Corso Cristoforo Colombo 1, there is a very special little restaurant that from Brera has decided to move here: Omacase sushiteca.
This place, already seen from the outside, sparks curiosity: as in most authentic restaurants there are the classic “small curtains” (noren) at the door. The interior is astounding as it is to one of the many restaurants in Tokyo or anywhere else in Japan. The staff is Japanese and comes from different parts of the country. There are all the premises to enjoy a great dinner and in fact the expectations are not at all disregarded. The essentiality of the place is also reflected in the menu but what intrigues most are the numerous off-paper proposals, one more inviting and more good than the other. The ingredients are all fresh and the craftsmanship of the preparations is obvious, not least the sweets (all homemade): edamame ice cream, tiramisù with soy flour and azuki, green tea caramel creams and classic mochi. In addition to goodness, it impresses the beauty especially of raw fish preparations, the work of chef and sake sommelier Shimizu.
Among the starters you can opt for tofu with tuna or salmon tartare, the namero of salmon or white fish and tuna with natto. There are salads, different preparations of udon and soba, salmon jaw under grilled shio-koji, katsu tuna, hosomaki, nigiri (baked sea bass or roasted eel) and of course the beautiful sushi Omacase and the original Barachirashi, maki, gunkan. The choice of sake is very interesting. Brunch is also possible on Saturdays for lunch.
