Noodles & Soups

Noodles & Soups is one of the many restaurants in Via Paolo Sarpi that you will have noticed dozens of times passing by without ever stopping to take a look, I'm sure.

Frequented exclusively by the Chinese community, it can be defined as a noodles shop, given the impressive variety on the card. Arranged over two floors, minimally furnished and with a quick but polite service, this small restaurant reserves many succulent surprises.

First of all we must specify that here the noodles are fresh and homemade, you can in fact choose the quality and type of noodles according to your taste. I tried the house noodles with flour, simply delicious.

The second fundamental thing is that here the broths or, more generally, the condiments are treated with loving attention and this can be perceived with every bite: the taste of the soup is full, round, real comfort food. But if broth is not what you are looking for, no problem, because there are dozens of sautée proposals in wok with a myriad of vegetables, fish, shellfish or meat. You are spoiled for choice!

I enjoyed the noodles with meat broth, Chinese mushrooms, slices of beef (simply mouth-watering) and the Chongqing noodles, predictably spicy (but not excessively) and flavorful. Both courses were gigantic to say the least, but don't be scared when you see the huge bowls: the contents are succulent and you will eat everything!

I would like to underline some recipes of particular noodles that you will find here and more difficult elsewhere, such as those with the three seafood delights, with seafood in miso, the Ma La Tang (refers to one of the spicy specialties of Sichuan street food), in spicy broth "crossing the bridge" or Japanese "dan dan".

The rest of the menu offers many cold and hot appetizers, some "extreme" such as pork legs in salt and pepper. There is no shortage of steamed dumplings and grilled buns filled with meat. Here the xiaolongabo are prepared with the same dough as the baozi, so they do not contain hot broth.

I recommend this place for a quick lunch break or an informal dinner with friends: you will eat well in a place a bit noisy but spending few money.
