A few steps from via Paolo Sarpi there is a restaurant that bears the name of Mi Dimsum, perfect for tasting dim sum, precisely, the famous Chinese preparations that historically were prepared as an accompaniment to tea and that today are a real fashion. There are really many restaurants offering this type of cuisine in Milan, especially because many have more or less the same name. But the vast choice of dishes proposed here will introduce you to this ancient tradition, especially if it is the first time that you experience it.
The restaurant is well-kept and very bright, the clientele is almost exclusively Chinese.
What is immediately striking is the amount of dishes on the menu: take the time to consult it because there are so many of them!
We obviously start with dim sum, dumplings different in shape, color and content. They are all visually very beautiful, but also tasty: I recommend those with red sauerkraut and lobster, cuttlefish and prawns. I tasted the saffron, octopus and lemongrass ones and these are the only ones that seemed too messy.
We continue with cold appetizers, the cornerstone of Chinese gastronomy and which cannot be missing even on your table: from raw crab, to spicy pork ears, passing through the jellyfish with cucumber there is something for all tastes.
There is no shortage of soups, rolls, rice and noodles, meat dishes, seafood and vegetables. When you think you have reached the end of reading all these dishes you will find even three really interesting sub-categories: the pho (rice noodles in broth), the bobun (rice vermicelli salad) and some specialties from the Sichuan area.
The dessert menu, with the exception of fried rice balls with sesame, fried ice cream and fried corn cake, offers single portions of fresh Italian pastries and ice cream.
I want to emphasize that each preparation reflects the tradition of origin and its historical evolution (the dumplings, in fact, are prepared according to the reinterpretation of modern Chinese cuisine), the same applies to the pho which is of Vietnamese origin. For this reason, I believe that Mi Dim Sum cannot be considered a fusion restaurant.
Finally, the staff is quick and polite, the prices are in line with the average of the restaurants offering this type of cuisine in the city.
