Japanese Crepes

Japanese crepes are a very popular dessert in the Takeshita Dori area in Tokyo: here it is possible to find several kiosks (some now historical) that offer dozens of variations of this very delicious walking preparation (I talk about it here). If you are a fan of manga and anime, especially shojos, surely you will have seen this cone crepes in one of them. It is a very simple French preparation, stuffed with the ingredients you like most: among the great classics there is no shortage of sweetened whipped cream, fresh fruit (strawberry or banana), chocolate and vanilla ice cream.

INGREDIENTS - 20 gr of flour - 1 beaten egg - 15 gr of granulated sugar - butter (or margarine) - 30 ml of milk (I used soy milk) - 30 ml of sweetened whipped cream - 1 tablespoon of blueberry jam - 3 fresh strawberries - dark chocolate chips - icing sugar

PREPARATION - In a bowl mix the sugar with the egg with a hand whisk. Then add the sifted flour. Then add 1 teaspoon of softened butter and milk, letting it drop. Stir continuously with the whisk until a smooth batter is created. Store in the refrigerator for at least 20 minutes. - Grease a large round pan with butter. Once melted, lower the heat and pour the batter. Cook the crepe on both sides (about 1 minute each). - Place the crepe on a plate and start the gasket, which must be done starting from the top edge vertically (V-shaped). Put the whipped cream, the jam, the strawberries cut in half and the chocolate flakes. - Roll the crepe into a cone. If you serve it on a plate, sprinkle with icing sugar. Otherwise insert the cone in a sheet of paper and eat it immediately: this is the walking version.
