I sapori di Shanghai
In the heart of China Town this year a very eye-catching and eye-catching new restaurant has opened called I sapori di Shanghai. Started quietly due to yet another lockdown, today it welcomes customers in an outdoor area and, soon, also inside the characteristic and well-kept restaurant.
As the name suggests, Shanghai specialties are eaten here. The menu is quite extensive and offers dishes ranging from dim sum to soups, passing by the numerous meat-based proposals (such as pork loaf with soy sauce, sautéed meat with eight treasures or shanghanese meat with eggs), without forgetting the vegetable side dishes (including morning glory sautéed with fermented soy or sautéed suji) and of course the desserts (such as dates stuffed with glutinous rice, sweet soup with rice balls and liqueur or sweet corn flatbread).
Among the dishes I tried noodles flavored with spring onions stand out (very tasty and served with boiled egg) and various types of dumplings: xiaolongbao of the house, braised dumplings of the house and sheng jian bao (on these I found the only small defect, i.e. the base was not browned and crunchy enough).
The overall quality is high: yes, these are homemade dishes, typical of street food, but this does not affect the goodness on the contrary, I found great care in the preparations and also in the portions, all very abundant.
I also recommend that you try this restaurant in company because all the dishes are perfect for sharing. To all this is added a quick but kind service and a really ridiculous price that will make you appreciate the experience even more.
