Hua Nan

Hua Nan is a Chinese rotisserie located in De Angeli area. The place is really small and spartan, perhaps more suitable for take-away (if you are in the area) or delivery.

The cuisine on offer is Cantonese: few basic ingredients, reinterpreted in many recipes - all of which tend to look alike.

Perhaps to meet the South American clientele, Latin dishes have been curiously included in the menu (which the patrons seem to appreciate a lot), such as salchipapas (potatoes and wurstel) and sautéed lomo with rice. But apart from this little parenthesis, the rest of the proposal is exquisitely Cantonese: dumplings, rice, sautéed noodles, duck, chicken, veal and beef, fish and even frogs. There is no shortage of vegetables, tofu, omelettes and sweet fruits, including fruit and the famous ice cream.

Among the dishes I tried I indicate Chinese rice cakes sautéed in wok, noodles sautéed with spicy meat, five-flavored squid, chicken with cashews, fried wantons and sweet rice and coconut (a kind of fried mochi).

All dishes are quite tasty and very abundant, so better if shared.

The strong point of this restaurant is definitely the price, which is very low. For these reasons I indicate Hua Nan as a medium-low range restaurant to opt for a quick, tasty and informal dinner.
