Hiyayakko

Hiyayakko (冷 奴,) is a tasty Japanese dish based on tofu garnished with various condiments. This dish, perfect as an aperitif as an accompaniment to sake, beer or cocktail, was consumed by samurai servants during the Edo period. Today it is possible to find it in restaurants and izakaya. It is mainly eaten cold - toppings are at your choice (for example you can choose between shiso, corn or cucumber leaves), I propose the classic recipe - while during the winter it is possible to find it on the menu seasoned with hot broth. INGREDIENTS -velvety and solid tofu - 1 piece of fresh ginger - 1/2 tablespoon of soy sauce - 1 finely chopped spring onion (only the green part) - 1 tablespoon of katsuobushi

PREPARATION - Cut the tofu into a square if you want to make a single portion, otherwise serve as a tile. - Pour the spring onion, soy sauce, grated fresh ginger and katsuobushi over it. Measure the ingredients according to your personal taste.
