Guishu

A few steps from Corso Buenos Aires there is a hidden Chinese restaurant that bears the name of Guishu. This is a relatively recent opening featuring Sichuan cuisine.

Don't expect a refined and refined environment, there are no frills here: few seats, a couple of graffiti on the walls and a simple and spartan table.

The menu is also pretty basic, so you won't find yourself puzzling over a thousand proposals that all seem to resemble each other. The service reflects the spirit of the place, fast and kind. In short, one of those sincere places that make a home.

As already mentioned, the proposals are not numerous. Despite this, here there is something for all tastes, even in terms of spiciness - if you do not tolerate the chilli you can easily get help from the owner who will be able to show you the most suitable dishes for you. There is also no shortage of offal and offal, so if you are daring you will find bread for your teeth.

As a welcome you will be served vegetables in spicy oil and Sichuan pepper, delicious!

You will find some cold appetizers (including chicken in spicy sauce and pork in garlic sauce), vegetables (such as delicious sautéed green beans, sautéed potatoes or eggplant, or the curious balsam pear sautéed with eggs), noodles and rice (in broth or without such as rice noodles in lamb broth or sweet potato noodles sautéed in sour broth, I recommend the spicy dumplings), soups (the famous egg and tomato soup cannot be missed) and fire bowls (among the such as pig intestines, potatoes or cauliflower).

The richest category is that of meat dishes: don't miss the spare ribs with peanut powder, the main dish of the house. Finally, among the specialties, there are Guishu-style fried potatoes, spicy boiled mix, grilled meat (a choice of pork, veal or chicken) and cold Guishu noodles.

Guishu's cooking is straightforward and sincere. The dishes are all well executed and tasty. Surely it is the right place if you are in the area for a quick lunch or an informal dinner with friends drinking cold beer for a paltry amount.
